Although potbellied pigs have been a major news item and it seems like their popularity as a companion animal is great the reality is that many people remain uneducated and unconnected when in comes to potbellied pigs. 

Consider how many people you know -- just off the tops of your head -- who have or had   a dog as a companion animal.  Consider when was the last time you saw a puppy -- in person or via the media.  Now consider the same for potbellied pigs.
